Longevity conjures up thoughts of extending time against nature.  A century ago, around 1900 man’s life expectancy was 32 years compared to today of 2024 set at  85 yrs;  an increase of approximately 160%.  Contemplating the ageing population volumizing against a minority of daring young creativity, on the edge of new horizons, does not fill me with excitement.

The past century saw many sufferings of two World Wars, the extended Vietnam war, the Korean war, Russo Ukranian war plus numerous Palestinian conflicts, just at the top of my memory. Intermittent peace has provided progress to produce better food, advance in medical knowledge, body caring, the spread of superior education, creating a stronger generation upon generation.

How humans develop in every aspect is to win from having lost.  Exceptional comebacks against all odds are like a metaphor of grapes being crushed to make wine, grapes are the only fruit that’s raised to be crushed to be protected, because in the process of crushing the grape, it finally comes to its ultimate purpose of becoming wine that last hundreds of years.

Through our demands for a longer life, better equipped to handle epidemics and pandemics, the pressures for preventative illness, to a command fitness and longevity come in the form of gyms at every condominium and office buildings, swimming pools, classes on body training, a variety wellness clinics enabling choice, teaching us preservation of self.

The heaven of rejuvenation

VISIA facial assessment

Longevity Hub by Clinique La Prairie, is the center dedicated to extending life and understands the human behavior of eradicating unwanted particles that traps itself inside and outside the body. The Hub specializes in different access to calibrating the deficits a human possesses, in the realm of individual machinery purposefully manufactured to detect facial complexion analysis with corresponding treatments of VISIA facial assessment reports. It captures the complexities of the skin from UV Spots to pores. Most important is the well-being preventative platform mineral test report. This machine detects heavy metal test within the body not the heavy metal music on my playlist.

Teresa Kim, Longevity Coach, tall, elegant and well trained, represented the Hub. Intelligently persuasive, she gave a profound explanation, on ageing and how the body fails if the owner is unaware of its workforce. Then started to seriously explain their innovative ways to irradicate UV sunspots, that just about completely covered my face, transparent in the snapshot taken showing wrinkles. Those wrinkles took me to a place of ecstatic memories, it immediately reminded me of my honeymoon in Corfu sunbathing the whole afternoon naked together on top of the hotel roof. Those wrinkles have credibility, and it will remain as a wonderful reminder of a great time that cannot be repeated. Intellectual persuasion lost over life’s winning milestone, passionate memories.

The grey functionary room holding these devices that detect defects, void of warmth, immediately filled with human laughter, the psychology of comradery that brought us both the reality of living a good life needs humor and humility. The science of longevity measured and created by these advanced machinery was designed to evaluate an individual’s health span with ingenious treatments and services, minimizing stress, regulating active body and brain, eating healthy with dietary recommendations, but forgot an essential component to our well-being. The hilarious laughter over my determination of preserving the precious memory with wrinkles than less UV spots was half the battle of staying alive. Any preconceived judgement or expectations on either part was dissolved instantly. Longevity Hub chose their staff well, that much was evident.

The next consultation was with a medically trained doctor. This is where one addresses our truth. The physical incapability is much like opening the closet of which parts were damaged through youthful carelessness and excesses. My closet needed evaluating what the mind can stand but the body could not. Cryotherapy has all the answers to my condition, the freezing conditions on my tiny, small frame, with unpadded fat might release me to heaven, literally, so with courage, I will leave this treatment for the moment.

Dr. Savanya Nganvivattavorn, soft spoken, gentle in her approach, accommodating, radiating trust in what she imparted. All that is expected in a human white coat. Sounding like an overrated PR spin, I assure you, that I am not. The medical institution is a tough system to accomplish, at least six devoted years only gets as far as an intern, more learning is required to specialize, hence the superiority acquired through years of graft when conducting or assessing a patient in concluding a prescription to heal, usually catches the patient’s complete sanctity of devotion. Most unfortunate for the medically educated, I’m their ‘difficult patient’ for my dark secret of not achieving the dream of a certified PhD in Neurology, the wonders of the internet has given enough armory in contesting those scribbling prescription for curing only the surface symptoms. But I liked her more after reading her ABOUT ME and impatiently wait my allotted time of consultation.

“A distinguished physician licensed in Thailand specializing in comprehensive range of medical disciplines including Family, Occupational, Anti-ageing, Aesthetic, and Sexual medicine.”

Human beings the same the world over, tweaks at anything involving sexuality, even of a doctor that can comfortably heal the very essential part of human procreation and its functionality. Sexual medicine reflects a modern minded practitioner, willing to serve and remedy the sufferer at its base for the continuation of humanity and the spice of life.

This getting to know visit has entrusted my instinct to commit to the next visit, the test of claustrophobia will be one adventure, as I await to self-challenge the Oxygen Therapy. This therapy increases oxygen concentration in the body and repairs and promotes angiogenesis. Difficult to pronounce, angiogenesis is a process of new blood vessels formed from pre-existing ones, essential for repair and wound healing.by inhaling volumes of pressurized oxygen in a small cabin.

A thrilling experience awaiting.
